Equitable Talent Management

As one piece of a multifaceted approach to further equitable talent management, EMC recognizes the need to ensure the candidate pools are diverse across multiple dimensions in the hiring process.

The talent acquisition team partners with the DEI team to review data and obtain details on the demographics of each team at EMC. When positions open, this data allows the talent acquisition team to engage with leaders of the respective business unit regarding where diverse representation can be increased. This strategy helps to inform where EMC will source for qualified candidates to fill the open positions. EMC’s talent acquisition team has a consistent cadence of partnering with the DEI team to discuss participation at career fairs, events, college/university identification and program/department opportunities. The teams collaborate to intentionally build relationships with underrepresented communities. When EMC works with with vendors or recruiters in the talent acquisition space, EMC seeks partners whose processes are demonstrably inclusive to ensure the candidate pool is comprised of diverse candidates. EMC has also created dashboards to measure progress and assess areas for improvement. EMC understands this is an ongoing journey and strives to continue to learn and grow.
