About DSM 4 Equity

The DSM 4 Equity Collective was formed as an initiative of Capital Crossroads in February 2021 to elevate Central Iowa’s commitment to equity by creating and implementing sustainable cross-sector action that drives measurable shifts in policy, systems, and practice. The Collective was comprised of a broad range of stakeholders purposely selected to engage in the development of a measurement tool that seeks to ensure diverse, equitable, and inclusive outcomes across the community.

Mission: Elevate Central Iowa’s commitment to racial equity by creating and implementing sustainable cross-sector action that drives measurable shifts in policy, systems, and practice.

Objective: Create an active master plan that includes measurable outcomes, policy recommendations, and action steps for all businesses, councils, organizations, and jurisdictions.

Goals:

Comprehensive data collection and public accountability

  1. Centralize data collection efforts.

  2. Make comprehensive data available to the public.

  3. Create accountability for our community and show areas of focus.

Supporting employers to improve organizational equity.

  1. Used Organizational Equity Practices Assessment (OEPA) survey information, identify tangible strategies to improve.

  2. Created playbooks to support employers. Read the Playbooks here
